What is FundFinder?

We often hear from patients and providers how difficult it is to track whether a patient assistance program is available. The PAN Foundation’s FundFinder app is a free resource that provides this information in one place and notifies you when a disease fund opens at any of the charitable patient assistance foundations.

FundFinder also provides a listing of patient advocacy organizations for each disease state so users can find additional support services.

Who created FundFinder?

The PAN Foundation created the FundFinder app by pulling in information about each disease program’s status from the websites of charitable foundations. In addition to the PAN Foundation, the app tracks information from the following organizations’ websites: CancerCare, Good Days, HealthWell, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, National Organization for Rare Disorders, Patient Advocate Foundation, Accessia Health, and The Assistance Fund.

Who can use FundFinder?

Anyone interested in learning about the status of available assistance or searching for a patient advocacy organization can use FundFinder. Please note, your personal information is kept confidential and will not be disclosed to other sources.

How can I use FundFinder to find financial assistance?

  1. Access the app via your web browser on your computer, tablet or phone. The app is not currently available in the App or Google Play Stores.
  2. Create an account or log in to an existing account.
  3. Scroll through or use the search bar to locate your disease fund. A green unlocked icon next to your disease fund means there is at least one foundation with available patient assistance. A red lock icon means patient assistance is currently unavailable across the foundations.
  4. Select the name of a disease fund to see which foundation(s) has available funding.
  5. To receive text message or email notifications when that disease fund opens, select the Follow button.

How can I use FundFinder to connect with a patient advocacy organization?

  1. Access the app via your web browser on your computer, tablet or phone. The app is not currently available in the App or Google Play Stores.
  2. Create an account or log in to an existing account.
  3. Scroll through or use the search bar to locate your disease.
  4. Select the disease to see if there are any related patient advocacy organizations. You can learn about the organization’s mission, the services they provide, and their contact information.

When does FundFinder send notifications?

When you follow a disease fund, you will receive notifications when that fund transitions from a closed to open status. You will not receive a notification each time an individual foundation opens.

For example, if an assistance program is closed at all charitable foundations, subscribers will receive a notification when that program opens at one of the foundations. However, subscribers will not receive notifications for each additional foundation program opening. This feature will be made available soon.

Does signing up for FundFinder notifications guarantee me a grant or financial assistance?

No. FundFinder notifications are purely informational and do not guarantee assistance. All assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to each foundation’s criteria.

How can I turn off my notifications?

To stop text message or email notifications, select the My Account icon in the upper right corner of your screen and then select “off” to disable email or text message notifications. You can turn on notifications at any time.

Does FundFunder track, collect or use any personal or sensitive health information?

No personal health information is required to search for patient assistance with FundFinder. Additionally, FundFinder does not request or record any personal health information from users at any point throughout the app.
